Lindsay Pointon

Lindsay is a founding partner of Signum Solutions.

After spending several years working in the family clothing manufacturing business in Leicester, Lindsay decided he needed a change in direction, so in 1985 he trained with the National Computing Centre (NCC) as an Analyst Programmer. From there Lindsay has “done most jobs in IT”, from installing data networks through to running a busy support team and managing ERP implementation projects.

Lindsay has worked with many leading ERP systems such as Sage Line 500, JD Edwards OneWorld, Microsoft Dynamics AX and SAP R/3, providing solutions for SME manufacturing and distribution companies throughout the UK and Europe. Lindsay became envolved with SAP Business One in 2002 upon it’s release into the UK when he managed the UK’s first pilot implementation. Lindsay freely admits he fell in love with SAP Business One a this point says his passion (and his motivation to set up Signum Solutions Ltd)  is working with smaller private businesses, “helping people to use business technology effectively, so they can compete, on a level playing field, with their larger corporate competitors gives me a great feeling of job satisfaction”.

Lindsay lives in the Midlands with his partner Sarah and his two teenage sons who are both pretty handy hockey players. When not working, Lindsay indulges his passion for building and racing sports cars.

Why I think SAP Business One is the bees knees….
“It’s has the prestige of a Bentley and the technology of a Honda, all for Ford money. There is very little we can’t make it do and customers love it.”

Best Things in life:
“A bottle of wine or two on a Friday night with the family.
Vintage racing cars and the smell of Castrol R.
Working with people who are passionate about what they do.”
